Danville Redevelopment & Housing Authority

DANVILLE, VA- After months of a meticulous and thorough search, the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s (DRHA) Board of Commissioners, are pleased to announce that as of June 10, 2024, Donald Paradez has been hired as the new CEO / Executive Director.

Mr. Paradez brings a wealth of experience, having dedicated almost 24 years to HUD-assisted housing programs. His impressive track record includes overseeing 25,000 Housing Choice Vouchers at one of the largest housing authorities, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. He also successfully managed a staff of 135 people at the Tucson Housing & Community Development, where the THCD serviced 7,000 vouchers, 2,000 public housing apartments, and 500 affordable housing units. 

Most recently, Mr. Paradez hails from the Tampa Housing & Community Development department for the City of Tampa, FL, where he was a Housing Quality Compliance Specialist. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy from St. Petersburg College.

On being chosen for this role, Mr. Paradez stated, “I am happy to be the selected candidate for DRHA. This community has shown that they are eager to collaborate to increase programs, services and opportunities for the citizens and residents.”

The DRHA Board of Commissioners’ Chair, Amanda Oakes stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Donald to Danville and the DRHA team. We are confident that his extensive housing and HUD knowledge will be an asset to DRHA.”  Members of staff are looking forward to Mr. Paradez’s leadership as they continue the work of helping to house residents of the city, providing homeownership services, and assisting those who are unhoused.
