Public Housing Director
Sharon Adams is currently the Public Housing Director for Danville Redevelopment & Housing Authority. Sharon has been working with the Housing Authority since February 8, 1983. She has worked in several other positions: Management Aide Trainee, Management Aide, and Tenant Selection Specialist. Sharon became DRHA’s Public Housing Coordinator in 1990. Later on, her position title changed to Public Housing Supervisor and then Public Housing Director. At one time or another, Sharon has been the manager at each of the Housing Authority’s five properties during her years of service. Sharon has dedicated her working career towards serving income-based and private housing residents.
Sharon holds an Associate Degree in Secretarial Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Both were attained as a student at Averett College which is now known as Averett University. She was certified as a Public Housing Manager in October 1983 and has obtained several management and occupancy certificates since then.
Sharon participates in church activities, enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, siblings, and friends. Sharon also enjoys fishing, sports events, and travelling in her free time.
