Vera comes to Danville Redevelopment & Housing Authority with more than 15 years of nonprofit experience. She has worked in non-profits that have focused on at-risk youth, entrepreneurship, quality child care, as well as, fair and low-cost housing for the elderly. Vera is also a partner in the non-profit, the Stayhood Foundation, which focuses on building a better community through Arts, Culture, and Edutainment. Her work in the nonprofit world is deeply rooted in her belief of “being of service when and wherever you can.”
Vera is excited about her roles as the Marketing Manager for DRHA, as well as, the Activities Director for the Southside Community Learning Center (SCLC). Vera is looking forward to working collaboratively with the staff of DRHA, the housing developments, and the community at large; to promote and bring awareness of all the wonderful things DRHA and the SCLC has to offer.
Vera holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Averett University.
When she is not working or volunteering, she enjoys reading, listening to and discovering new music, event planning, traveling, all things crafty, and playing Sims for PC.
